Position Summary
The Program Manager, Grants Planning and Development leads strategic planning initiatives aligned with organizational goals to secure public and private funding. This role collaborates with physicians, staff, and community partners to design and implement programs addressing unmet healthcare needs. The Planning and Development department raises approximately 15–20% of ACCESS’ annual budget.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with funders and community partners
- Represent ACCESS in planning forums, community meetings, and funder discussions
- Research, analyze, and present community, healthcare, and financial data
- Identify and evaluate government and private funding opportunities
- Prepare grant proposals and planning materials aligned with strategic goals
- Coordinate grant implementation and ensure deliverables are met
- Orient staff on grant goals, objectives, and reporting requirements
- Monitor program performance, budgets, and compliance
- Troubleshoot challenges and recommend solutions for grant success
- Develop and manage grant budgets with Finance and Program Managers
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience in program development or grant writing
- Proven success writing detailed program or research grants
- Experience developing and managing grant budgets
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
- Bilingual English / Spanish
