We are seeking a skilled Drill Operator to operate Ditch Witch JT20 directional drilling equipment safely and efficiently. The role involves setting up and dismantling equipment, monitoring machinery fluids, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. You will collaborate with your team to meet project goals while maintaining our exceptional safety record in utility installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Ditch Witch directional drilling equipment and tools with precision and care
- Set up and dismantle drilling equipment at job sites
- Monitor and maintain machinery oils, hydraulic fluids, fuel, and air systems
- Follow strict safety protocols, including grounding at all operational times
- Collaborate with crew members to meet project goals and timelines
- Maintain DDoT’s low utility strike record by performing tasks safely and accurately
Candidate Qualifications
- Proven experience operating Ditch Witch directional drilling equipment
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations in construction and utility installation
- Ability to troubleshoot and conduct basic machinery maintenance
- Capability to read and interpret technical drawings, maps, and drilling specifications
- Physical fitness and stamina for outdoor work in varying conditions
- Strong teamwork and communication skills; basic Spanish is a plus
- Previous experience as a Drill Operator is required; Mini-Excavator and Trencher experience is a plus
