Job Type: Contract to Hire (6 Months)

Work Schedule: Hybrid (2–3 Days/Week Onsite, Day 1 Onsite)

Location: New York City, NY (Local / Nearby Candidates Only)

Rate: $80/hour (W2 Candidates Only)

Visa: USC / Green Card Only

A foreign bank is seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Front Office Software Developer to support critical front-office trading applications. This is a hands-on role working closely with traders, quants, and risk teams in a fast-paced trading environment. Two openings are available: one focused on backend shared services and another on application-side development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance front-office trading applications using Java
• Work directly with traders on equities trading workflows
• Build and support OMS, stock loan, scheduling, and market data systems
• Collaborate with quants and risk teams on pricing and analytics
• Implement FIX-based trading integrations
• Support time-series data processing and pricing strategies
• Contribute to front-end components (~20%) using JavaScript
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and production support

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience
• Strong front-office trading desk experience
• In-depth knowledge of equities and equity derivatives
• Experience with Loans, Collateral, Margins, and Lending systems
• Solid understanding of FIX protocol
• JavaScript, HTML, CSS (Vue.js is a plus)
• Experience with time-series data and pricing strategies
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with traders

Nice to Have

• Python experience
• Pricing models, volatility modeling, and P&L calculations
• Experience with Quod (OMS)
• Experience with Murex

Education

Bachelor’s degree required
